Sandy Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kathleen "Sandy" Johnson passed away peacefully on April 18, 2022. She was 80 years old. Sandy was born on February 23, 1942 to Helen and Andrew Johnson. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt, and she had a unique and infectious laugh. Sandy was known around town as a faithful walker of her furry friends and often engaged in conversation with many folks along her walks. Sandy will be dearly missed. A lifelong resident of Cape May, Sandy was a graduate of Our Lady Star of the Sea School, Wildwood Catholic High School, and Atlantic County Community College. Sandy was a devoted and active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church where she served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was also a nurse, and her career as a LPN and RN included work at Mercy Hospital in Sea Isle City; Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital (Cape Regional Medical Center), and many years working for the American Red Cross bloodmobiles. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Helen Johnson; her sister, Eileen Johnson Chios; and her brother-in-law, Marios Chios. She is survived by her nieces, Mary Chios, Elena Chios Carlson, and nephew, Andrew Chios. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 14, 2022 (Thursday) at 9:30am in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where friends will gather and be received from 8:30am until 9:30am. Interment will follow Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cape May. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
