March 3, 1963 - April 16, 2021
STANTON, Ron - 58, recently of Cape May and formerly of Greenwich, CT passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family on Friday morning, April 16, 2021. Ron was born in the Bronx, NY in 1963 and grew up in Mt. Vernon, NY where he graduated from Mt. Vernon High School. He furthered his education at Iona College where he earned both his BBA and MBA. Ron always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He started his first company straight out of college, Stanton Business Systems, later renamed AccuData Solutions. The company installed accounting systems and computer networks - cutting edge technology at the time. Later, after the birth of his first son, Ron decided to try his hand at the corporate world. He began his corporate career as Manager for Estee Lauder, then as Manager for Gartner Group. He quickly progressed in his career, becoming Vice-President at GE IT Solutions and lastly Vice-President at Compucom, an IT company. After 23 years in the corporate world, Ron determined that he preferred to own his own business once again. He had always loved the Cape May area, and he happened upon an inn for sale. After visiting the Angel of the Sea, Ron, along with his wife Theresa, decided to purchase the inn in 2015 and make it their “retirement” adventure. Ron lived his life with enthusiasm. He deeply loved his family and friends, and spent as much time as possible with them. He loved boating, fishing and planting extensive vegetable gardens. He loved home renovation projects such as buying, renovating and reselling homes. He designed and built his own home in Greenwich, CT. There was nothing he enjoyed more than a challenge, or a problem to be solved. He purchased the Angel of the Sea in Cape May, NJ and quickly implemented a variety of changes that made the Angel more appealing. One such change was (and is) offering breakfast, afternoon tea and sweets and evening wine, cheese and antipasto al fresco to guests on the inn’s ocean view Victorian porches. He had a passion for the Angel of the Sea, and loved the myriad of people he met there, both guests and staff. So many of these became his dear friends. Ron is predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Rose Marie Stanton. He is dearly missed and forever loved by his family which includes his wife of 30 years, Theresa; three sons, Jeff, Matt and Peter; brother, Raymond Stanton, Jr. (and wife, Susan); sister, Suemarie Stanton; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Relatives and friends will be received at the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May on Tuesday (Apr. 20th) from 4pm until 8pm and again on Wednesday (Apr. 21st) from 11am until 12pm in the funeral home with Mass of Christian Burial to follow and begin at 12:30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May. Entombment will follow Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Cape May.
