BODGE, Mary M. – 68, of West Cape May passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday morning, August 3, 2015 with her family at her side. Mary graduated from Methacton Junior and Senior High School, Eagleville, PA in 1964. She later attended Alvernia College to further her education in accounting. She has been a local resident for the past 30 years after moving here from Reading, PA. In her younger years, she owned and operated Reading Ambulance and Medical Supply and also owned ASAP Answering Service. Over the past eight years, Mary was employed by the Cape May Marina and Bath Time in Cape May. She was previously employed by Room Service; Fabric Outlet; Cape May Day Spa and Cape May Lumber where she held various management and bookkeeping positions. Mary always kept a busy schedule, yet still finding time to volunteer for the Historical Society of Cape May and Historical Accommodations of Cape May. She was also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Cape May. Mary liked to travel and especially enjoyed going to San Francisco to visit with her extended family. She also enjoyed trips to the Casinos. But most of all she enjoyed her summers here in Cape May when her extended family would come to visit. She will be sadly missed by not only her family but by the many friends she made during her years here in Cape May. She is predeceased by her son, Walter J. Bodge, III (2001). Mary is dearly missed by her loving and devoted companion of 38 years, Leonard Sabanos as well as extended family and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (Aug. 8th) at 10am in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 9am – 9:50am.
