Lou Riccio Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Louis M. Riccio -82, of Cape May, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, June 12th surrounded by loved ones. Son of Angela and Louis Riccio, Lou was born and raised in Lansdale, PA and resided in West Cape May. He graduated from North Penn High School, studied Industrial Design at Philadelphia College of Art, served in the US Army for two years, and later earned his Master’s Degree from Stanford University. Lou’s kind and gentle demeanor touched us all. He looked at the world with an inquisitive mind and genuine curiosity; always eager to learn, laugh, and connect with those around him. These connections run far and wide, and being connected to Lou was a gift to us all. Lou is known for his beautiful watercolor paintings. A talented artist and lover of nature, Lou’s work has been displayed and enjoyed in local galleries, businesses, and cozy beach houses around town. He enjoyed painting, spending time in his garden, sailing, fixing things around the house (and for others), serving at church, and most of all, enjoying time with his friends and family. He was a member of Cape May Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon and Elder. Mechanics always interested Lou, and these curiosities extended from spacecraft to model trains and fast cars to backyard projects. Lou will be missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 33 years, Linda (Buchanan), three children, four grandchildren, and two siblings and their children. Son Michael (Caroline), daughter Crista (Tim) John, Holden, Mia, and daughter Andra (Greg) Baylor. Brother Rick Riccio (Nora Pat) Emily and Nick, and sister Sara Ann Reading (Bill) Holly and Jackie. Everyone who knew Lou loved and respected him. He will be missed tremendously by all of his friends and family. Lou’s memorial ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11am in the Cape May Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes St., Cape May where friends will be received by the family from 10am until 11am, prior to the ceremony.
