Lorraine Barnett Juechter was born April 18, 1930 in Pottstown, PA and passed away on November 17th, 2021. Her early life was split between Cape May and Pottstown. She was a graduate of Cape May High School and Tobe Coburn in NYC. Before marriage she operated the family business Lorraine’s Fashions on Washington Street. In 1951, a dashing USCG Lt. Charles Juechter changed her life. They were married and immediately started their life’s journey. For the next thirty years, they lived throughout the United States near various Coast Guard bases. Lorraine was a military wife, homemaker and supportive mother. Upon retirement from the Coast Guard they returned to Cape May. During their 69 years of marriage, Charles and Lorraine explored North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. Her life was guided by the Catholic faith and her convictions. She was a founding member of the Christ Child Society in Cape May County, changing the lives of children in need. She is predeceased by her parents Howard and Clare Barnett, sister, Helenclare Leary, and husband, Charles F. Juechter. She is survived by daughter, Clare Juechter (John J. Murphy III), beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Mass of Christian burial at St. John Neumann, 680 Town Bank Rd., North Cape May on Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00 am.
