ALTMAN (nee Mullin), Kathleen “Kate” – 67, of Cape May Point passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2014. Uncharacteristically of Kate’s life, she left the party early. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a 1964 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast, where Kate started her family before moving to Northern Virginia and 19 years ago moved to South Jersey. Kate was a forever “people person” who would light up the room the moment she entered and enjoyed nothing more than being with her family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Paul and Elizabeth Mullin; sister, Anita (and James) Carr and her brother, Paul. Left to mourn and cherish the memories of a life lived to the fullest are her loving husband and best friend, Stephen Altman; her children, Neal (and Janet), Doug (and Sarah), Alistair (and Allie) and Colin (and Ann); beloved Mimi to Alexa, Abigail, Olivia, Madeline, Sebastian, Jenson, Elizabeth, Winifred and Shepherd; her sisters, Barbara Mullin, Noreen Mullin, Betsey (and Ed) Powers; brother, Tom and many nieces and nephews. Also mourning Kate’s passing are Stuart Miller and extended family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kate’s viewing on Monday (Oct. 27th) from 5pm – 7pm in the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May and again on Tuesday in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May from 12:30pm – 1:20pm with Mass to follow at 1:30pm. Interment will take place on Wednesday at 2PM in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Springs, MD. Following the burial, there will be a celebration of Kate's life at 1956 Barton Hill Rd., Reston, VA 20191. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Social Services of the HOPE Community Cancer Center, 211 N.
