Jack Maguire

July 5, 1922 - September 1, 2017

MAGUIRE, John P. (Jack) - age 95, of Cape May, NJ and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017. Jack was a proud WW II Veteran. He served in the US Army in the South Pacific. Summers during college, Jack “Sport” was an Athletic Director at Camp Karamac Resort, Delaware Water Gap. Varsity Letterman in Tennis at LaSalle College, graduated 1950. Employed at John Wanamaker, Philadelphia in Sales. Jack was a man of faith, and a loyal parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Cape May, NJ. Long-time member of the Cape May Tennis Club. Avid reader of world history. Jack had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful friend and family man. Predeceased by his brother Edward Maguire (Inez). Jack will be missed by his loving family which includes his wife of 64 years, Jane Maguire (nee Jordan); daughters, Kathleen Sharpe (Jim) and Mary Maguire; grandchildren, Andrew and Kyra Sharpe. Visitation Thursday, September 7th 12:30 PM Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington Street, Cape May, NJ with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 1:30 PM. Interment following at Cape May County Veteran’s Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House, NJ.
