Gladys Rex (nee Bell) Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

REX (nee Bell), Gladys B. – 86, of Lawrenceville and formerly of Cape May passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Gladys was born in Cape May on September 19, 1929 to the late Robert Leon Bell and Allien (nee Turner) Bell. She was a longtime resident of Cape May and lived the later years of her life in Lawrenceville; however, she always considered Cape May to be her “home.” Always a woman of faith, while in the Trenton area, she was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Among many character traits, she will be remembered as a fiercely independent woman who was devoted to her God and family. Gladys enjoyed many things in life, more specifically, travelling, cooking, gardening and most of all spending time with family and dear friends. Along with her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband, Glasgow Rex; her only son, Allen Bell, Sr.; her sister, Virginia Matthews and brother, Lonnie Bell. Gladys is dearly missed by her loving family which includes her brother, William “Buddy” Bell; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday (July 16th) at 11am in the Macedonia Baptist Church, 630 Lafayette St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 10am until 10:50am. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Lower Township.
