Memorial Service information is finalized and can be found below. DAWE, George Troy, D.O. – 72, of Cape May Beach and formerly of Lewistown, Pa, died peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side. Dr. Dawe was educated in his early years at Carson Long Military School and graduated from The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, NJ; Upsala College in East Orange, NJ and received a Doctor of Osteopathy from Kansas City Osteopathic Medical School in Kansas City, MO. George took over his father’s family medical practice in Lewistown, PA in 1972 and founded The Bridge Hospice program affiliated with Lewistown Hospital in 1979. Dr. Dawe served as the Medical Director for the Bridge until 2009. He also served as the physician for the Mifflin County Jail and the state health clinic in Lewistown from 1972 until 2009. He closed his practice in 2007 at which point he retired to Cape May Beach, NJ. George will be remembered for his generosity, contagious laugh, positive attitude, his desire and commitment to helping others, and his spirited approach to life. He touched countless lives both through his medical practice and in the community. George Dawe’s life is in many ways like the slices of his favorite chocolate cake. The many slices include his dedication to his family and friends, slices representing the many lives he touched as a caregiver, confidant and guide and the slices lovingly and generously plated for those given to his care in their final moments of life. George Dawe’s life touched and was empowered by the many families he cared for as a prominent physician in his hometown of Lewistown, PA. His life grew to include the blessings of his marriage to Robert Seeds and the many joys shared exploring their lives in Cape May Beach, NJ and the travels they experienced together with friends, be that the former Soviet Union, their Italian escapades or a meandering river cruise. George Dawe was determined to live his life by “his” rules and he left this life obeying these very rules. We remember George proclaiming in his typical non-sugar coated response, people ‘pass’ gas, credit cards ‘expire’ and people ‘die’. Dr. Dawe is pre-deceased by his parents, George and Ruth Dawe and his sister, Marjorie Dawe. George is survived by his husband, Bob Seeds; three children, Troy (and Ellen) Dawe, Kathryn Dawe, Christine Dawe (and Richard Cook); three grandchildren, Siena, Sophia and Lea; sister, Martha (and Jim) Louzy. ***MEMORIAL SERVICE: The public Memorial Service for George T.
