He was born in Philadelphia, PA and at a young age moved to the suburbs of Huntingdon Valley, Pa and started spending his summers in Cape May, NJ, where he undoubtedly always called home. Growing up, Ed always had a bigger than life personality which fit his personal appearance, up to 6’6’’ and no good. He quickly earned the nickname “Big Ed” by family, friends and colleagues. Ed had a knack for making people happy and entertaining. That’s why his decision to become a part of the Hospitality Industry was a perfect fit for him. Ed has been a part of CMAA (Club Managers Association of America) since 1984. He managed many Private Country Clubs in the state of New Jersey. He was a devoted member of the NJ Chapter holding the title of Chapter President four times. He also held the titles of Vice President, Education Chairman & Board Member. Growing up playing football, his love for the game never ceased. He was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan, Fly Eagles Fly! Even given all of his success in his career, his proudest moment was being a father. His children were his pride and joy, and made it a point to have them with him, even if had to be at work. They grew up seeing how much personality he had, and how well known he was, not only for his accolades with CMAA, but how he was as a person. He was always out to make sure people were taken care of, smiling, telling jokes and being the life of the room. His three children will do their best to continue in his footsteps and make sure his legacy lives on. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward A. Dollinger & Kathleen Dollinger.
