Donna Buhner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

BUHNER, Donna – 75, of Cape May, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2022. Donna is predeceased by her parents, Donald and Cynthia Buck of Cape May, NJ, and her recently deceased beloved husband, John W. Buhner (2022). She resided in the Erma area of Cape May, NJ, with her loving husband and their adored cats, Tippy, BenBen, and Pearl. Donna attended the University of Pennsylvania in East Stroudsburg, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education. At the beginning of her career, Donna worked as an Elementary Teacher’s Aid. After that, she spent multiple years working for Swain’s Ace Hardware in Cape May, a job that she really took pride in and enjoyed. Donna and John also had a successful lawn mowing business in the Cape May community. Both Donna and John were hard working, goal-oriented people. In recent years, Donna worked for Boscov’s Department Store in kitchen and small appliance sales. She enjoyed working with customers while applying her personal expertise. Donna was passionate about family and close friends. She was very proud of being the wife of a Cape May Police Officer, something she showed through her dedication and support every day. She also cared for both sets of their parents throughout the years. Donna and John were cat lovers. They spent their entire lives adopting cats and enjoying their company. Donna was vigorous about reading, literature, and Fine Arts. She loved reading romance novels. She really enjoyed cooking and using gourmet cookbooks. She would often take pride in serving a five-course meal to her family, something that was looked forward to and appreciated by all. Throughout the years, Donna was a member of the Episcopal Church and she was part of the choir. Donna was a loving and passionate person, especially to her friends and close family members. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 14th from 10 - 11am at Spilker Funeral Home in Cape May, NJ with Donna’s funeral ceremony to begin shortly after 11am. Interment will follow in the Cold Spring Cemetery, Lower Township.
