LeMunyon, Robert – 89, of Cape May passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, February 9, 2016. Born in Wildwood, Bob grew up in West Cape May and was a lifelong resident of the Cape May area. He graduated from Cape May High School in 1943. A man of honor, he served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II as a radar operator on the aircraft carrier the USS Essex. Bob also donated his time to serve on the Cape May City Elementary School Board for 16 years, in which three of those years he held the position of Board President. Bob truly enjoyed hunting and was an avid member of the Buck Hunting club located in Shamong Township. There in Shamong, he also treasured spending time with his family and friends at his cranberry bog property where he felt most at home. While working at Cape May City’s recycling yard, Bob always took the time to converse with everyone he met. Bob will be remembered as a loving and caring man, with always a quip ready for a laugh. He is predeceased by his wife, Patricia (1998) and his brother, Belford LeMunyon. Bob is dearly missed by his loving family which includes his two sons, Robert LeMunyon (and his wife, Ann) and Mark LeMunyon (and his wife, Sharon Lee Kustra); two grandchildren, Jennifer LeMunyon and Mark Robert LeMunyon; also his nieces and cousins.
