Anne Kane
October 24, 1951 - March 21, 2021
Anne Kane (69), passed away in the comfort of her home on March 21, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. We take comfort knowing she was reunited with her husband in heaven, Don Kane. She fought a brave fight with appendix cancer and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She did not let it slow her down, and was active and positive until the very end. Anne graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School. She and Don married in 1972, and they were happily married for 34 years before Don passed. They loved boating, and built a vacation home with their bare hands on the Chesapeake Bay, spending many days on the beach. Anne and Don raised their daughter in Garnet Valley, PA., after which she retired to the beach in Villas, NJ. Anne spent much of her retirement with her beloved siblings and their spouses, who had started to migrate to the little slice of heaven the Villas offered, buying houses within a couple blocks of each other. One of Anne’s many passions was walking on the beach. She loved staying active through yoga and took joy in averaging a minimum of 10,000 steps daily on her Fitbit. She had many dogs over the years, strays or rescues she took in and spoiled. Anne loved crafting, ceramics and crocheting in her younger years, and more recently was a member of the Cape May Crafters. She enjoyed working in her garden and making her yard a relaxing oasis. Anne was the best Mom, endlessly supportive with the answers to all of life’s questions. She was a super Grandmom, indulging the kids with their imaginary games for hours on end. Anne was most happy surrounded by her loving family, telling stories and laughing. Anne was an extraordinary woman and is dearly missed and forever loved by her daughter Jacqueline Spurrier (Daniel), grandchildren Zoey, Layla and Austin, mother Kathleen Connors, and the entire Connors clan of over 50 family members, including her 7 brothers and sisters. She is predeceased by her father William Connors and nephew Tim Gula. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Appendix Cancer Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Research Foundation. A celebration of Anne's life will be held at a later date when Covid-19 restrictions ease.
